You are ideally situated to explore Paris on foot, being within a five minute walk of the Notre-Dame cathedral, the Louvre, the Orsay Museum and the Sorbonne university. Equally, you could cross the river at the bridge " Pont de la Tournelle " and take a step back in time as you wander around the ancient quarter of Le Marais.
You could lead yourself off into the quarter of St. Severin which is full of lively restaurants of every nationality.<br>
If you enjoy jazz you must visit the famous Caveau de la Huchette where some of the world's finest musicians play. Along with this there is the oldest cafe-theater in Paris the Caveau de la Bole, which has been entertaining Parisians for centuries and was formerly very popular with the King's musketeers.
It would be difficult to miss the Boulevard St. Germain which offers bookstores along side antique boutiques, art galleries and Haute Couture salons.
Finally you could have a drink in one of the enormously famous cafes which neighbor your hotel, such as Les Deux Magots, Cafe de Flore or the Brasserie Lipp : all hot spots for writers, artists and philosophers alike, with Sartre, Picasso and Hemingway all having been former regulars. |
