We had a deluxe Superior Room. Although the room was small by American standards, it was of adequate size. There was a double, glass door to a small balcony. The double door shut out all of the traffic noise. The handle to the outside door was not attached very well although we could get the handle to work. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not have any difficulty sleeping, either at night for for a late-afternoon nap. We had a view of the towers of Notre Dame from the room. The location of the hotel was excellent. We liked being on the left bank better than what we saw on the right bank. We were 1 block from the Cluny-La Sarbonne Metro station and we used the Metro extensively. We liked the neighborhood. We were in walking distance to Notre Dame, tourist areas, the Musee de Moyen, and many good restaurants. Around the corner from the hotel was a local shop where we could buy fruit, bottled water, wine and snacks. From 7 to 10 a.m. the hotel offered a small buffet breakfast of croissants, rolls, wonderful coffee, orange juice, ham, sausage, cereal and cheese for 60 FF each. We used the breakfast buffet almost every day of our 8 day stay. The breakfast room in the basement was pleasant. It was a quick way to get breakfast and get out. The cost was about what we would have paid if we had gone out for breakfast but it was much more efficient. The breakfast staff was cordial and responsive to our requests. They constantly checked the buffet and replenished it as items were used. When we arrived, there was a light bulb burned out in the bathroom in the ceiling in a location where we needed the light. We tried for 3 days to get the light bulb replaced. The maintenance man made two attempts to replace the bulb but he must not have known how to do it. I finally gave up and switched a ceiling bulb from another location in the room. It was a special bulb and was not a simple screw-in type of light bulb. We arrived at the hotel in mid-morning. Since rooms are not available until noon, we checked our bags and went out in the city. Our room was ready when we returned. Overall this was a good hotel with a good location. We would stay here again.
