An excellent alternative to 4 star hotel for a longer stay. The apartment offers enough space for a family of 4 persons and is very nicely decorated. After several stays in the Latin Quarter and nearby the Opera, I fall in love with Montmartre which is not only very "parisien" but also very safe. I also the recommend the Italian restaurant which is only a few steps from the Apartment. It boasts a menu for Lunch for only FF 60 including wine !!! I will definitively take that apartment again for my next trip in Paris.

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The "Deux Moulins" residence is an oasis of green in the very special Parisian district of Montmartre. At the heart of the residence is a garden, which surrounds the two surviving windmills in Montmartre, and in particular the Moulin de la Galette, immortalized by Renoir. The apartment's balcony has a good view up the hill, towards the Sacr Cœur, across to the workshop of the artist Gen Paul, down towards rue Girardon, and over the little 78-seat cinema below (Cine 13) where you can enjoy a glass of champagne while watching movies (usually shown in the original language). Outside the main gate, the postcard Montmartre: narrow streets climbing up and down the hill, small houses, little gardens, romantic views full of atmosphere. Place du Tertre and its throngs of tourists are only about a 5-minute walk away. The steps of the Sacr Cœur offer a beautiful view over the city both during the day and at night. Transport is no problem. While walking is the best way to know to get to know the area, with all its secluded spots, the local bus (Montmartrobus) stops within a few meters of the residence entrance. Two metro stations, Abbesses and Lamarck-Caulaincourt, are just down the hill within easy walking distance. Food, another of the Parisian delights, is available in many forms. We tended to avoid the often overcrowded restaurants around Place du Tertre. The Italian restaurant around the corner is good if pricey (but it has a cheap lunch menu during the week). We also enjoyed cous-cous at L'Orientale, a restaurant on Rue des Martyrs, just above Boulevard de Clichy, and the "hot-rock do-it-yourself cooking" at La Pierrade, at the corner of Rue Yvonne le Tac and Rue des Martyrs. For quick snacks or brasserie meals we were very pleased with the food and ambience at Le Vrai Paris, a brasserie-bar-tabac on Rue des Abbesses, at the corner with Rue Pilon. However, we usually preferred patronizing several of the little food shops along the lower part of Rue Lepic and Rue des Abbesses. Here you can find a very large selection of fruit and vegetables, as well as cheese shops, charcuteries (delicatessen), and boulangeries/patisseries (bread and all sorts of pastries and baked goodies). Several shops specialize in prepared food

roasted chickens, roast pork, and a variety of salads, seafood, vegetables, as well as Chinese and Thai food can be bought for take away. For general household needs, a good place is Bala Diffusion, 27 Rue Lepic. The shop is small and the shelves are rather chaotically arranged, but you can generally find what you need at a reasonable price. Finally, back at the residence, Pedro le Rgisseur (Concierge) and his wife Concepcion are very kind and helpful, and are usually ready to assist in any way they can. In conclusion, we found this to be a good accommodation in a wonderful part of the city full of local color and atmosphere. We can't wait to come back!!
