Built by an English family during the first middle of the 19th century, the HOTEL BRITANNIQUE has remained true to its British tradition. During the First World War the hotel became the headquarters in France of the Quakers humanitarian organisation, whose mission was to assist the civilian population. During the Second World War, it was requisitionned by the occupying forces as a place to stay for the officers. Since 1945, it has become again the prefered stopping place for English speaking guests who have always been warmly greeted.
