And then at the hotel itself there are always those extra touches, a phone in our room with its own number and a fax machine if we want one. If I have business to attend to, they've thought of that too. There's even a room with an overhead projector. To relax there's cable TV and sports and international channels, Naturally there are hair dryers and a laundry service. Staying at the Astrid is a pleasure in itself. The decor is stylish but discrete, fully in keeping with a building dating from the end of the 19 th century The walls are hung with paintings and tapestries. Everywhere you go there is nothing to jar the tone. The bedrooms are all charming, furnished by someone who has an eye for these things.
